San Pedro Creek Water Quality

Cultivar Foundation is proud to be a member of a coalition dedicated to find and fix the sources of pollution and to restore clean water in San Pedro Creek which flows into Pacifica State Beach (Linda Mar) making it one of the most polluted beaches in California and on the west coast as tested and ranked by the Surfrider Blue Water Task force and Heal the Bay.

The coalition includes the Blue Water Task Force of the Surfrider Foundation, the San Pedro Creek Watershed Coalition, salted roots, Cultivar Foundation and the Pedro Point Surf Club.

Cultivar Foundation is funding the initial eDNA testing to determine the genetic code of the species polluting the creek and beach with unhealthy levels of enterococcus (fecal) bacteria.
